Hi all, Brand new here and well, was looking for some guidance. I know often places think to lash out at people that aren't as well versed in something as them but i'm hoping to skip that and go straight to making me better at this so I don't ask silly questions anymore.

I'm trying to make a CheatEngine entry for Foreign Legion: Buckets of Blood so that I can set the money value really high and be able to buy some dang ammo, because even on "Low" occupation, I run out of ammo so fast.

Anyway, I search for a 4 byte value of my money, I find it, add it's address. Change the value to what I want, I go in game and I see that the value shown is immediately changed, but when I buy items you can see the old value decreasing when it pops up showing how much you have currently, and i'm kind of at a loss.

Any guidance as stated would be greatly appreciated, and if you get to this part thank you kindly for taking the time to read my TLSHR (Too Long Shouldnt Have Read)

To make it even easier I had entered a few urls to images with a set of steps, only to be smacked telling me I can't post URL's yet

To make it even easier, here are the EXACT steps I took, I also had screenshots but this thing says i'm not worthy of posting url's yet.

#1 Load Game, Load Cheat Engine
#2 Go to Weapons Section to Buy Ammo
#3 Search for that value of 1875 using 4 Byte Scan
#4 Buy one stack of ammo for 400$ value drops to 1475
#5 Re-scan to find new value using Compare to Last Scan - Found 1 address
#6 Add Memory Register to Codes and update to 25000$:
#7 Spend 400 more to show the popup value and the fact that I can't buy anything value drops from 25000 to 1075

This is your problem:
You found the value displayed on the screen not the actual value, and when you try to change it, the value on the screen takes back the real value from the real address, you need to backtrace and find the real address:
