| Guns are ridiculous, anybody can point and shoot, I say we all revert to melee combat with swords and the likes, introduce some skill. |

You know having a gun can actually increase the chance of violence right? | so do video games and tv but i doubt anyone is willing to give those up. | i have no idea where you people get these ideas. they do not increase violence. people can clearly distinguish between reality and the virtual world. giving someone weapon don't mean they are going to start killing people with it. if someone already made up the mind of committing violence, he/she will execute it regardless of a gun. |
I agree that there is little/no evidence that games can encourage violence but for my point that guns can increase violence - Say some one is robbing a house and they have a weapon, then the owner comes down with a gun the robber will feel threatened and there is a higher chance they will use their weapon. | this situation can be applied to a knife, no? |

that isn't even a proper scientific research paper. it's a summary of papers which support the hypothesis of violent video games are associated with higher levels of aggressive behavior. the cited works come from repeated researchers. i have no idea if the research papers they cited are peer-reviewed or not. i'm going to remain skeptical about the creditability of the document. |

Well yeah, it can even be applied to fists but at least with a knife/melee weapon there is a lower chance of getting killed (I would assume so, It does less damage when it goes in and there is a much smaller area of incidence but haven't actually looked into it that much.) Its also much easier to protect yourself from a knife. |

I think that Chris Rock said it best!! We don't need gun control we need bullet control, if every bullet cost fifty thousand dollars there would be no innocent bystanders |
