				Well obviously your way is the more professional/difficult way.
 
An easier way would be to write your text, paste the image ontop in a new layer, and from there ctrl+click the square next to the text layer, highlighting the text on the image. Then just inverse selection and delete, add a drop shadow.
 
 
I'm no pro though, as you can see.

Clipping mask is more easier, well for me.

				Clipping mask is hard to undertand but when u get it first time, you wont forget it.
