Go through Aim option's see if there is a run on startup check box.
If so untick it...
XP: Go to C:\Documents and Settings\User\Start Menu\Start up
I think thats the start up folder in XP...
Vista: Go to C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Start up
See if you can see any Aim file in their, if so delete it...
Start>Run>regedit
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
See if there is an AIM key in there.
If so delete it... Don't delete anything else...
Also as sup3r said.
Start>run>msconfig
Startup tab
Untick Aim from there...
If those don't work then Uninstall and re-install...
There may be in option during installation for that... _________________

Don't bother going into your windows files when you can just untick the box (in SETTINGS) that makes AIM startup when you turn the computer on. _________________
