Yeah, the Q6600 is one of the core 2 quad processors.

Thanks for the help! I can't be positive it's all good due to the unpredictability of the problems I was having with it, but after quickly testing it out with some of the worst offending games I've yet to see any errors.

Really though, thank you! This has been bothering me for literally 4-5 months, and while I had seen threads that mentioned multicore issues they always seemed to be talking about installation (which never gave me even the slightest hiccup).

well, another solution was to run ce on only one/two cpu core(s) (taskmanager, ce.exe, affinity, tick 1 or 2 cores max)
that'd fix it as well. But tt's a shame to not let the other 3 cores do some scanning

i'm getting this scan error too... and was going to try the other ce version posted above but the link seems to be broken. is it possible for the link to be fixed? i'd like to try the said version of ce.
