Well, most of us read the post on how vista has us all doomed, but rootkit.com says otherwise.

We have been recently researching on Vista. Meanwhile, our research for fun lead us to some important findings.Vista is still vulnerable to unsigned code execution.vbootkit is the name we have chosen ( V stands for Vista and boot kit is just a termed coined which is a kit which lets you doctor boot process).vbootkit concept presents how to insert arbitrary code into RC1 and RC2, thus effectively bypassing the famous Vista policy for allowing only digitally signed code to be loaded into kernel. The presented attack works using the custom boot sectors.Custom boot sector are modified boot sectors which hook booting process of the system & thus, gains control of the system.Meanwhile, the OS continues to boot and goes on with normal execution.

Vista = gay. Everything you open has a "allow or not allow" thing and there's no "Always allow" button T.T I don't know much about it cause I don't have it my friend Josh does, but I do know it blows _________________

There are laptops that are gaming machines. Some are better then 90% of the desktop pc's made for gaming. But they cost out tha ass.
Also i have had first hand with Vista.
The crap has networking problems.
Driver and software/Hardware compatibility problems.
It is over glorified, and lags.
And for any of you doing th ipod thing. Good luck on your software working with it.
You can go buy the Microsoft Ipod and try and install the software that comes with it. It tells you that the software is not compatible with the O.S.
Now you tell me how the same hell you can sell a Ipod saying it works with Vista and doesn't, Even the driver released online for it does not work. It says the exact same thing.
Made by the same Fu[in!n Company! |

Napoleanboots, you CAN disable those prompt's with a built in windows function...
the windows key + r (for run) and "msconfig" and then go to the last tab over, and turn off the security stuff you don't want, easy as that...
labyrnth, vista may be bloated, but if you have a decent computer, its not enough to matter at all, I have yet to run into any networking problems, and I run torrents play games and lots of different p2p stuff, but either way... thats me...driver's and software are the responsibility of the software/hardware manufacturer to make/update, not Microsoft's... so that point is invalid...(hardware is pretty compatible unless you are using ancient stuff, which the manufacturer stopped supporting, hence the incompatibility)...it is overrated though, and lag is system specific, I get no lag whatsoever... hope that cleared up some stuff
and thank you pyr0magex for this post, very informative. |

And the first release of Vista does lag.
The software and hardware issues are the same thing as when xp came out. Some new products do not work with the OS. I did not say anything about out dated hardware. The iPod is brand new and is a Microsoft product.
"Incompatibility"
Have you done VPN,
Trouble seeing other Computers in the network, Then if you do get it to see one. After restart it is all over again.
Printers software incompatibility "new ones"
Since win98 i have never had to install a networking driver for any linksys network card until Vista, the generic windows driver worked just fine.
They screwed up windows longhorn... I have the original windows longhorn and it works better then Vista does at this very moment.
My 2 machines i built run faster.
Brother in law has a new HP with Vista Lags to hell.
Installed Vista on one of my machines same result.
It is pretty much preference to a point.
Im sure your machine is working fine to your standards.
Anyone has an opinion about Vista,
Most of what im saying are facts from first hand experience since the beta was released. Im sure they are working to patch up the loose ends.
Vista will be better just like xp if it is given some time.
This will happen no matter what OS gets released, because the testing that is done is nothing compared to a world release/test. 5000% more feedback and error reports. |
