Cheat Engine

So I've discovered the (fairly) recent remake of "Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord" for Windows...and the Cheat Engine file that someone made for it. Not bad for exper4imenting with obscenely high levels and near-invulnerability; but the kind of cheat I could seriously use is a character creation/editing hack. Re-rolling attribute points more than three hundred times (no exaggeration!) gets frustrating when I want to qualify my PCs for a favorite class. Is there any way for Cheat Engine to tweak starting attributes in that game? (If the moderators allow it, I can share a link to the existing file on my Google Drive.)

Start the game, make a character, take note of one attribute’s numeric value.

In CE: First Scan → type the exact value (4 bytes). Back in-game, reroll once to change the attribute.

Next Scan → Increased or Decreased (or exact new value). Repeat until you get few addresses.

When you find the correct address, double-click to add it to the table, change the value, and freeze it.

Right-click the found address → Pointer scan for this pointer → pick a small max offset and scan → reboot the game and repeat to find a stable pointer.

If runtime edits are flaky, try save-file editing: find your character name in the save with a hex editor and look for nearby ints matching attributes.
