How do I cheat?

recently I started re-playing Shadow of War & wanted to make some hacked orcs so I downloaded the table. ( I know nearly nothing about cheat Engine I barely know how to change the money & such things much less creating tables. I've tried admin mode, and restarting, & there's this Reddit post I ran across that said it's likely a broken table (would post the link but not aloud to
that's almost identical to mine, & I was ready to leave it at the solution & consider myself SOL on that front but that wouldn't explain ALL of them being broken, would it? or is it still true & just a WILD coincidence? To be fair though the only other ones I have are, Axiom Verge, Prey, Fallout 1 & Torchlight 1. I have no clue how to tell if something is broken on my end, Or if I'm just very unlucky & they are all broken. Any help would be VERY appreciated.
------ Edit: I figured since those games I listed are on the older side, I imagine it's possible for them all to be broken. so I downloaded a table for a newer game I have, Baldurs Gate 3, & still nothing. so I'm guessing something is broken on my end or a setting I don't know about, or since I just updated to 7.5 in the middle of this (not blaming 7.5 think it was acting up before that) maybe a setting changed? I dunno I'm grasping at straws here & I don't use CE often as I find it confusing (old man brain  ) I normally mod from Nexus or Wemod the tables here are far cooler but a bit more confusing at times for me.

Just a few ideas:
1. Check the filetype. A table is a .CT file as far as i know. Maybe you saved them without extension.
2. Check the filesize of the tables. Maybe the download gets corrupted somehow.
3. Create your own table and save it - doesnt need to have correct stuff. Add a new Adress, write "TestValue" in the Adress name. Check if its possible to save and reopen.

+ 2 more ideas:
1) Before opening the table, go to the Cheat Engine folder and run the "ceregreset.exe" plugin and see the results.
2) Follow these steps for the file you downloaded and cannot open with CE;
2-1) Select an action in CE, scan any number, pull down an address and from the CE main menu choose File>>Save as. Click and save the table (.CT extension).
2-2) Open the table you saved with notepad. (Right-click, select "Open with" in the menu that opens, and confirm the "Notepad" option.
2-3) Pay attention to the first two lines in the table opened with notepad.
It should be something like this:

<CheatTable RadioDeviceTableVersion="42"> |
2-4) Likewise, open the table you downloaded with notepad and replace the first two lines of the table you saved with the first two lines of the table you downloaded.
2-5) Click the "Save as" option on the menu of the table directory you downloaded, which you opened and edited with notepad, and in the opened recording file, set the extension section to "All file" types, give it a new name, add ".CT" at the end and save it.
Now double click on the new table file you saved and try it.

3. no clue, couldn't figure out how to do that. thought about changing the money (the ONLY thing I know how to do) but every time I did my 2nd scan it came up blank, no choices. tried several times.

1) did that & said ce was successfully reset. after that I open the table after opening ce 1st & everything seems to work again. didn't bother with the rest but I WILL keep them in mind. ty VM guys for the help, cant thank you enough.
