Where can I download a portable version of CE? I know some older versions of CE had portable downloads, but wanted to finally try out a script for a game and scripts have literally never worked unless i've used the latest build. Almost feels like there's a kill-switch in CE to not allow scripts if it's not the latest version. I've had some scripts where pressing "Active" button doesn't do anything on them, i've had some where the parent of the script activates but not the reset and just now I found a script where when I press the Active button, the checkbox turns into a clock (which is something I have literally never seen before) and then stops and doesn't activate.
But I digress. I need a portable version of the latest CE release. The download page doesn't have one and there is no mention of it existing on patreon. Where can I get it?

Create a VM, and install CE.
ZIP or RAR the installed CE folder.
Copy it from the VM to a safe place.
Destroy VM.
There you have it, a portable CE!
I asked DB a few times already to save things in a config file rather than the registry, but no luck so far.
There are some tools (e.g. VMWare) that can you can use to virtualize an application. I think CE only needs a virtual registry - I wonder if there's a driver for that...

Oh wow that's interesting. I've been using CE for like 13 years and I had no idea!
Also did a tiny bit of searching and read about something called "ceregreset app" but I have no idea where that even is and if it would even be helpful in this case.
Still, thank you for the suggestion! I wish there was a more... "official" way tho.

CE has a shortcut to that in the start menu after the installation. But all it does is wipes the settings from the registry.
I just export the registry settings before I reinstall Windows. It's not idea because I am rolling possibly obsolete settings forward, but it preserves the settings I need at least
Then, I just import the registry settings back and I can continue where I left off without any hassle.
