I can't understate why cmp don't working here. When [01CB9FB4]<>A it for unknown reason write to [ecx+54]=A.

cmp [01CB9FB4],A

mov [ecx+54],5
nop
mov eax,[ecx+54]

p:
mov [ecx+54],A
nop
mov eax,[ecx+54]

You need to jmp behind p's code after writing 5 else you'll undo your write of 5 by executing p's code which writes A
