I'm very new to cheat engine and downloaded it just to cheat money in a game I'm playing.

I watched a Youtube video to find out how to change a value. I found the address I was looking for, changed the value, and nothing happened. So I decided I'd try the tutorial to see if I was missing anything.

Step 2 of the Cheat Engine Tutorial gives you a health value you can decrease by random intervals and wants you to change the value to 100 via CE. I find the address, set it back to 100, but it stays the same. Ok, so wrong address, right? No! I press "hit me" and the number changes from 93 to 99. So the value was changed to 100 but it was still displaying the old value.

I hope I was clear enough and sorry if it's a repost. I looked for an answer all over but couldn't find it.

It doesn't visually update on screen. When you press the "Hit Me" button, it subtracts a random amount of health and draws the new value to the screen.
When you change it in CE, it just changes the value. It doesn't run the code that draws the new value to the screen. The value will still be whatever you set it at.
