Hey, I have a dell 15 3442. I have installed a new window. and even I have way just 60 gb data in my laptop still it is very hot. Fan runs really fast and laptop becomes hot. Anyone can guide me?

open the taskmanager
go to processes
Enable the option to show all processes of all users if it's there
then sort by CPU with highest at top

Check if there's any process that's not "System Idle Process" with a high cpu usage

Need to open backplate and check thermal grease on CPU and clean cooler

are you using a cooling pad? maybe you are using some heavy programs or games?

check your exhaust fan maybe blocked so bad circulation

Dismantle your computer, change the thermal paste of the radiator and clean the fan

see if you are run heavy program, like gaming. if not, then clean the fans of the dell laptop.

1. Get a laptop that has a good cooling system.

2. Get a laptop stand.

3. Clean thermals once in a while.

4. Profit.

This is a wholesome answer in my opinion. One thing that comes to mind when it pertains to your specific model, is that the copper pipes around the heatsink are also very then (minimal heat exchange potential).

what I have used in the past (in conjuction with a laptop stand w/ fans) is attaching small copper heatsink blocks to the thermal pipes whenver possible to allow for additional heat dispensing.

one last resort is to partially remove the back cover, or add additional opennings / remove air filters (make sure in a dust free enviornment).
