Cheat Engine

I would like to be able to cheat in a 2D online game, in order to be able to move anywhere on the map.

I thought about modifying the coordinates value with CheatEngine.

I tried several times using this well known method where the 1st scan is Unknown value --> moving character --> changed value etc, but in the end, no variable remains.

It is possible that the coordinates are only server sided and thus impossible to edit?

Alternatively, I could use a "no clip mode" to walk through any obstacle but that seems harder to achieve.
