Use Cheat Engine with chance to search also for byte & 2 bytes.
(Edit->Settings->Scan Settings)

This is funky, when you search for a value will show like this:
(ie)
Address 31C3CD94 Byte Value 14
Address 31C3CD94 2 Bytes Value 14
Address 31C3CD94 4 Bytes Value 14

So, follow me:

Toon (value: work steps)
Choose toon with longest work steps to work.
Choose any 1 point activity (like fishing = 1) search 1 byte/EXACT value.
Make it do (fishing) once, then Next Scan for the new value, and so on, until you get 1 address. You got it !
As far as you don't get out of the present gaming, you can FREEZE that memory (check mark/left) to get the value fixed.
RESPECT THE MAX VALUE of the toon, and keep moving up as toon evolves, IDK if you put it higher what could happen.

Storage (value)
Choose now to make any item with lowest qtty (resource) required of any material and see how many material you already have for that resource, search 2 byte/EXACT value (you can do it with 1 byte, but if it is greater than 1 byte (>255), it will use 2 bytes and value will not match (ie: value 398 will show 142 in 1 byte and 398 in 2 bytes, so better use 2 bytes).
I don't recommend it, but if you want, you also can FREEZE this memory too. Rather get any value you want (not to high, IDK the limit).

Save the game before trying anything.

For yourself: please don't spoil the game with too many cheat and get fun!
I believe those 2 you get anywhere you want in the game.
