Hello everybody! I'm trying to change the movement speed of my main character (Chrono Trigger in this case), i've already found the value that's tied to the movement of Crono, but now, i don't know what i can do to change the speed!
What should i learn to keep going and successfully change it?
I know a little about browsing the memory region, but only the minimum (noob here), do i have to mess with auto assemble on this one?
I would really appreciate if someone can give me a guiding hand on this one.

To clarify...you have found the correct address for movement speed and can manually change the value, and now you are looking for a way to be able to easily change the value on future runs? If so, is your problem with how to assign hotkeys or how to avoid searching for the value each time you play the game?
Is this for an emulator? If so, which one?

Hi there, ++METHOS! So, the value that i found just keeps changing to a random number everytime i move, if I change it manually, it doesn't make any effect on the character speed, i guess now i have to find out what writes to the address and do something from there.
First, I want to just change the character speed; and I'm using an emulator on this one (Snes9X)

character:
speed value.
jump value.
and other related things are usually neae each other.
anyway, speed value is constant. (in most games)
and finding constants isnt easy.
there is couple ways to find that:
search for '0' when you are not moving. and increased when you are.
search for flag thats controlling your movement.
search for coords, then try to get some information from X-coord.
if your game support prone, crouch, run. then it should be easier tho.

| Hey, OldCheatEngineUser! Thing is that I found the x and y coord, the problem is that I don't have a clue of what i can do from there, like what I have to do to change the character speed or even find the character speed from those coords. I think I found the character speed address one time I was searching, but when i tried to change the value, nothing would happen; bottom line, i don't know what i can do after finding this address.

its not an easy thing, its not a quick thing.
in all 3 methods it require:
- find out what writes to/accesses this address.
- find out what addresses this instruction accesses.
- dissect data/structures.
- take addresses from dissect data/structure and repeat "writes/accesses"
- take addresses from "what addresses this instruction accesses" and do "writes/accesses"
- luck
not all games are much difficult, but most YES.
