Way back in HS. It was memorial day. We were in class. Everyone had to stand for the announcement on memorial day. I didn't stand. Teacher didn't say anything. A student asked me why I didn't stand, I said that I have a perfect GPA and I'm part of many leadership activities. He asked what does that have to do with remembering the troops. I said absolutely nothing, which is why I didn't stand.
