Guys I guess you are getting tripped too much into this, I guess you don't know this type of cyber criminals. DarkByte is still human... So he might commit errors too like everyone, don't worry as soon as he realize that this is just a fake story, the problem will be solved. I hope that he will not accomplish any of their requests

bein' in denial isn't a good thing.
it maybe something or it maybe just trolling.
man are you trying to be funny? you even bolded "realize" like I should've said "realise" instead, you know that those words are both correct? That's pathetic to grab someone by the ass like that, I'm trying to explain my point of view... which is really hard since everybody here is thinking about legal issues and similar stuff, I don't really have to care about it... if I wish I can just don't give a fuck about this and avoid it because it's not my own business, instead I'm trying to help this community and you are joking without a good reason.

Ty for all the info STN and ++METHOS and others. I'm not trying to argue this especially since I'm no expert, simply asking for clarification. I have a close friend that is a web developer and network expert. Known him for 20 years(I'm 32 now) He works for 6D global, a great firm, I would highly suggest using them for web development needs, but again I have an obvious bias. But I digress, allow me to get to the point.
One day out of the blue I get an email from his wife, who is also a very close friend. It is very fishy email, doesn't seem like her at all and has a link which luckily my virus protector blocked. This worried me so I contacted her and asked if she sent that email. She said no and I told her I thought maybe she had a virus/had her account compromised.
Later her husband and my close friend contacted me and assured me that neither he nor her were infected and told me that especially skilled hackers could make an email look like it came from anywhere and use someone else's email address to hide where it really came from and could even target someones contact list to spoof an email.
Now Occam's Razor suggests that maybe he was prideful and embarrassed about being hacked given his expertise and profession and simply told me a tall tale but he seemed pretty adamant that it could be done. I don't know tho, again I am no expert, for all intents and purposes I am a newbish idiot, so I am bringing it to you guys who seem to know what you are talking about. So if my friend was right then all I'm saying is it could indicate that even tho the email looks legit and appears to come from Bethesda, maybe just maybe there is a small chance it didn't and only appears to have. Again I don't know. Thoughts?
It is possible, of course, but DB has already said that he has replied to them and that they have replied back stating that the notice is real. Even if someone spoofs an email from a remote computer, they cannot receive replies to that email unless the account holder's computer has been totally compromised, or that data is being intercepted and tampered with -- which is very unlikely.
The Entertainment Software Association does not like to publish their phone number evidently (how convenient), but you can find a contact number with a simple search.
