Hello,
I'm using Cheat Engine to create my trainers and it was doing fine until yesterday.
I was scanning for Unknown initial values then increasing or decreasing them.
This was working fine without any problems at the beginning, however, yesterday it started to cause huge lags while scanning for an unknown value, and when I next scan it, my ram usage goes over 98% and Cheat Engine is freezing.
I changed cheat engine temp folder to a directory in another hard disk which has over 60-70 GB of free space always, I've also made sure there isn't anything checked in the Extra section of CE settings.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

make sure your pagefile in windows can grow.

and don't do an unchanged value after unknown initial scan

Use an SSD if you can for the temp file. It can increase the scanning speed drastically and stop CE from freezing (because of slow HDD operations)

Thanks Dark Byte, this reduced the lags!
@STN, how to know which is SSD or HDD?

You can check it with Windows Drive Optimizer (formerly called Disk Defragmenter). It will show which drives are ssd/hdd.

Or if your casing is see through (like mine), look at the hard drives. If they are tiny little disks like these () they are SSDs.

If they are big ass ugly looking like these ( ) its HDD.

SSDs are extremely fast while HDDs are limited in speed (7200rpm is the max i have seen).
