How do I cheat?

First off Hello Everyone!
Im not sure where to start on how to make my own trainers, Ive watched several videos on how to setup cheat tables. Once I "generate" the trainer and reboot the PC it doesn't work but the cheat table works.
If someone could throw me in a direction to learn more Id appreciate that, Ive looked at the other topics and still not sure where to go lol.

Do the cheat engine tutorial (look in ce directory or help>cheat engine tutorial).
It doesnt make sense why the cheat table works but not the trainer. Post screenshots of what you're doing

In order! Game is Mafia 3 v1
Explains what I have done before I hit generate.
1.
Hot key chosen and settings
2.
The generate part, no errors are given when I generate.
3.
The trainer has been activated, if I were to restart my PC and run the game and than the trainer it wont work and vice versa.

Yeah i don't think it works like that. You will have to manually select each one of the cheat (pistol ammo1,2 etc.) and assign a hotkey to them.
You are just making it activate a header (unlimited_ammo) which does nothing. It probably works when you have ce running because the cheat table gets activated rather than trainer.

I thought creating headers and adding cheats into them was how you linked similar cheats to one another. Is this wrong or is some sort of scripting needed?

trainers and cheat tables are the same (the trainer just shows a small gui for the table which is running in the background)
Setting a hotkey to a header(and set the options for child and set value accordingly)and then confim it works in the table, should also work in the trainer itself
As for the trainer not working, make sure you do NOT call your trainer.exe maffia3.exe, as the trainer will probably end up opening itself
If that's not it, then instead of saving as a exe trainer, save it as an unprotected .cetrainer, and then open it inside CE without targeting the process. You can then see what it does, or doesn't.

Mine has been named Mafia 3 Trainer.EXE and is in a different directory than where the game is installed.
I did what STN suggested and it worked after reboot......
I added 4 hotkeys all assigned to Num 1 the first two froze the ammo and than the second two added 100 ammo.<<This was with STN's suggestion
I have the settings for my header in the image below.
Now for the hotkey setting on that i set it to just freeze and it initially works even if I close out of CE but after a reboot it fails. I have a feeling I am overthinking this and I must be missing something.
EDIT:
Son of a mother's harmbe and jesus from Lowes. Im so fking stupid, I literally spaced and forgot I had the checkbox checked on the header whenever i ran the fking generate trainer. I seriously deserve the title of Omega Retard as King wouldnt suffce. Now its time to design it! Thank you everyone for helping me through this tough journey lol.
