Hi all,

I want to play a little bit around with radio waves. Lets say, I've a small RC car. When I hit the "forward" button on the remote control, the cars drives forward. How can I "catch" this forward signal with my laptop? What hardware do I need to detect such radio waves?

My way would be to catch the different signals the remote control sends out and then being able to code a small program to control the RC car with my laptop. Are there better ways to archive my goal?

Edit: HackRF seems to be the hardware to use for stuff like this? Experiences?
