| I got a little pumped when I heard there was going to be a Lucifer show, but low and behold, it's just the devil coming up from the underworld to do what else: Help the LAPD solve murders! Then last night I was hanging out with some friends and they were watching a show called iZombie, where some girl contracts a "zombie" virus, and has to eat brains, but uses the memories she gets from eating brains (lol) to help solve murders! It seems like so many shows are trying to be cop shows, it's boring as fuck. |

| Yeah, the only cop show I like is Brooklyn Nine-Nine because it's funny but I often feel weird when they catch drug dealers. Like I don't know who to root for. It has started getting too repetitive and clichéd after the second season though. |

that seems to be the most popular premise for t.v. shows right now. the story of the limitless t.v. is really cool. but oh wait, he uses his talent brought on by NZT to work for the FBI.
white collar another great show. intelligent criminal that's a great thief and art forger. oh wait, he makes a deal with the FBI to solve crimes using his own criminal skills. |

you remind me of that southpark episode where kyle thinks everything is shit and that's all he hears in music and TV.
The best cop show is the first 48, I think its really well made, although its more of a detective show. Impractical Jokers is about the funniest show on TV, but some people say they're annoying as well. NBA games are always pretty entertaining if you have a least one team you like, but if not it will always be boring.

| watch cowboy bebop. the episode format is nearly the same as the present day american crime shows, just the protagonists are bounty hunters instead of cops. |

no, the things i do enjoy i enjoy a lot more than other people enjoy their own things. people will marathon and binge an entire tv show and then say "yeah it was ok but started getting bad" and then they've just wasted their time instead of just stopping. I love watching good movies and reading good non-fiction books, and when I do those things I feel more than just entertained, its more of an accomplishment and you learn more. for music I can listen to the same album every day for a few weeks and then move onto another. its just really dispiriting to see people consume garbage media, like a fat family at a mcdonalds, but its even worse because there is no healthy alternatives, everything on tv is garbage.
there is a small select handful of good tv shows, but they would be better in a format other than tv, and they don't play with the medium in any meaningful way. the good tv shows are just really long movies broken up by their story arcs (mad men, breaking bad, etc). anime is actually really good at the tv show 30~min format and packs the time they have full of entertainment (good ones anyways), and then eventually the things worked through in each episode culminates into a finale |

It is all really about outlook if you have good tastes you'll never look back on a show as wasted time because you are entertained at least in some points.
To say you enjoy things more than other people enjoy their things because of how selective you are is very subjective and delusional. Unless it's crack cocaine that is.
