Recently I have been trying to find the real address to a particular value in Ryse.. I am not that experienced with these things so I tried the tutorial and.. well I did pretty well I suppose and learned about pointers though I am still a bit confused by the details. After reading several posts by other people talking about using debugers other than windows I managed to finally use one that works that doesn't crash the game when I use the "Find what writes to this address" function. Now the issue I am facing at the moment is I cannot for the life of me figure out the true address to the kill streak value... Every time I restart the game it changes the address so I tried using some of the methods I learned in the tutorial for cheat engine with no success... Perhaps I am missing something that I should be doing any help would be greatly appreciated. Please forgive my ignorance I am only now starting to mess with cheat engine.
The "traditional" pointer finding method just straight-up does not work in a lot of modern games due to the rising use of internal scripts, interpretation, global entity types, etc.
Restart your computer, then rescan the list. Try it on a different computer if you can. Whatever pointers remain can safely be used in a table. Just double-click on a pointer in the pointer scanner to bring it to the cheat table. _________________
I don't know where I'm going, but I'll figure it out when I get there.
