In traditional binary, we have 0s and 1s.

Now in terms of logic, we use True (1) AND/OR (*/+) False (0)

So True AND False would have translated as 1 * 0 = 0 --- > False

However, there is this problem.

False AND False --- > 0 * 0 ---- > False

Whereas, a double negative equates to a positive (True) state [(-1) * (-1) = +1]

This leads me to believe that the number zero does not actually represent "False", which ultimately leads to a whole new can of worms. "0" is the neutral state, neither positive nor negative. 1 is the positive state. So what then, is the negative state?

This is what I believe is an assumption we make (Again, this is just an alternative theory):

* That zero is the absence of a number, when it is in fact a "default state" of sorts

I also think that there is in fact no binary, that the system is just a way we humans have made the system more sophisticated than it is, in an attempt to try and understand it better. Instead, we can represent logic gates in one state that at this time we cannot put in simple terms.

That's just what I think. Again, not trying to start a debate here.

Understand logic gates, binary and maths better before you ask dumb questions like these.

As an ECE (electrical and computer engineering) student, I can explain your faulty logic. The "negative" (NOT) function does not multiply numbers in any way (Btw negative is different from the NOT function due to the Two's Complement notation). The only thing it does is complement the value it already is, so a 0 turns into a 1 and a 1 turns into a 0. That's it. Also, negatives are stored as "signed" numbers and you should take some computer engineering/science classes if you want to know more about all this.
