I highly recommend NOT getting into it if you don't know how to securely connect and hide your footsteps, especially your BTC trail.

Yup was scared of this too. It'd be interesting to learn about, since I believe I can now have a thorough understanding of how it all works.

Ignorance isn't cool. Learn it anyway. You're going to need TOR in your life when they criminalize literature, as they have done in the past. You will need the various Deep Web Marketplace sites when they criminalize substances essential for your brain to function at full capability. Too late, they already did. Before you were even born.
I have been saying this since 2007, there will come a time when what we refer as the "clearnet" will be under total control by governments and corporations, conspiring with advertising companies by making profiles out of you and selling your data, and monitoring all your activities, to try and police political dissidents and freethinkers. Of course, they've been doing this long before 2007, it's a shame Snowden had to lose his otherwise stable life to tell us what we already knew. It wasn't all in vain though, because his revelations eliminated the group of people that called us "conspiracy theorists" or simply refused to believe due to cognitive dissonance.
