@talix you may be right, but there are better resources than the bible out in the world to gather your morals from. We can leave it in the past now. No more human indoctrination. We just need a larger crowd of atheists who care for eachother and respect the laws and ways of nature. Let minors have one extra choice and freedom here in America, allow them to say something to authorities if if they feel religion is a negative influence. It's ok to willfully listen to religion. It should be ok to be avoided as well. We are working towards a libertarian/democratic socialist state in America at least on the west coast, and when we finally get someone who is intellectually honest in the white house (Bernie Sanders) we may maybe able to send him our messages as a nation better. The past years have been a series of questionable decisions. Bernie is not even in that group of corrupt politicians paid by the Koch Brothers.

right about what, exactly? you are still glossing over a lot of what i have said. i also did not even mention morality. religious practice and study opens up more to the world and student/disciple/devotee than just morality, such as metaphysical thought, philosophy, community, charity, family, culture, welfare & food, life lessons, knowledge of self, knowledge of fundamentals of the world, discipline, etc. etc. etc.

I've had more motivating people and friends that I've talked to in my life than religion in whole. I've thought for myself and I understand that atheism is just a belief system, but in which this world we have to argue almost very daily nationally with the minded to get the point across. To be a secular is to also welcome the idea of agnosticism. For current objectivy in survival of our human species, let's not let religous fundamentalists dictate our lives and be the ones that represent us all, thats just illogical. Keep them in check and make sure we keep ourselves in check and that that we survive in this current reality we live in. We need to need to become secular, just like the constitution insists. Atheists will allow for this known idea to get across if if we just take the the small steps.

you should study into buddhism and understand how beliefs lead to attachments and are born of attachment. which leads to suffering. views on god, or a belief in a lack of god, are still born out of suffering like many other things, and are equal convictions.
not to mention you can be religious (buddhist, hindu, etc.) and still be atheist -- in fact, many abrahamics will easily concede to knowledge and affirmation of existence of god is unknowable and that agnosticism or consideration of a lack of god simply comes with the territory and are normal thoughts.

yeah i liked those atheist communists, bolsheviks etc. the ones that would rape whole villages of girls and toss out religious iconography and other objects, then go out of their way to censor the news of said objects getting fed up and throwing off miracles left and right as a response. the brutal murders and destruction/thievery of property and mass starvation was a nice touch, too.
