Sports, PPV, and local programming. It's a lot less convenient since the FCC folded and allowed cable operators to encrypt rebroadcasted content (so built-in QAM tuners might not be sufficient), but basic tier cable rates are pretty cheap (was like $7 / mo when I last lived in an area w/ cable) and provide pretty good access to all of the above. A couple of tuners in a headless GBPVR/plex box, and I could record 2 SD and 6 HD channels at once, then automatically strip commercials, compress/transcode, and integrate into my media server's directory structure.

I miss cable Internet the most, but cable TV also has some value.

yea i actually forgot its hard to pirate sports and ppv sporting events. from what ive tried to find, its hard to get MMA matches from regular torrent sites.
