Anyone in the U.S. what do you think about this bullshit they're trying to pull over here? They're trying to censor the internet aren't they? I mean they already own all the so called 'mainstream' media, have bought up all tv channels, radio stations, and newspapers. (Having a different logo does not make them different)

All to control the flow of information of course, to keep the truth from getting out. Well the internet is our last refuge, our last sanctuary that can't be controlled and where information of all sorts flows freely! A place where no matter what information is presented, that it is up to the individual to decide, to be able to determine whether that information is accurate and truthful or not.

It has already been hard enough for truth to get out to those who are still asleep, as they'll write off any information that their TV doesn't spit out to them automatically as inaccurate or false simply because their Teli didn't broadcast it!

In a world of deception and lies I guess truth really is the greatest enemy, and they'll do everything and anything they can to keep spreading lies as if it were truth!

They won't win the world wide web though, this is just their latest attempt at it which will ultimately fail. It is interesting though to see their attempts on it.

I've posted this in this section to try and keep it on a low profile.

So Hitler, what do you think about all this? It's a deliberate attempt to censor the internet right? For some alphabet soup agency to step in and decide what content is deemed 'acceptable' and what isn't! Where they would block access to pages that they don't like (one's containing some actual truth for instance).

F*CK CENS*RSHIP!

"The very word "secrecy" is repugnant in a free and open society; and we are as a people inherently and historically opposed to secret societies, to secret oaths and to secret proceedings. We decided long ago that the dangers of excessive and unwarranted concealment of pertinent facts far outweighed the dangers which are cited to justify it. Even today, there is little value in opposing the threat of a closed society by imitating its arbitrary restrictions. Even today, there is little value in insuring the survival of our nation if our traditions do not survive with it. And there is very grave danger that an announced need for increased security will be seized upon by those anxious to expand its meaning to the very limits of official censorship and concealment. That I do not intend to permit to the extent that it is in my control. And no official of my Administration, whether his rank is high or low, civilian or military, should interpret my words here tonight as an excuse to censor the news, to stifle dissent, to cover up our mistakes or to withhold from the press and the public the facts they deserve to know." - John F. Kennedy

Your essay is all jumbled... is your rant directed against the FCC or the hegemonic media conglomerates? It's pretty clear that the government already has the power to shut down websites - or at the very least make them very inconvenient to access - yesterday's ruling won't change that in the least. In fact, yesterday's ruling can be viewed as a means of protecting freedom on the Internet. My favorite part of the open meeting yesterday was when the chairman said, "people complaining that this is a move to control the Internet... it's like complaining that the first amendment is a move to control free speech." Of course, I was only able to stream bits and pieces because my Internet service sucks so badly. haha.
