so I was using cheatengine to spawn in armors, weapons, and even made custom weapons where its like poison on a bow, or like a fire pyromancy flame, and everything was fine, i played to my hearts content for months. after a month of having fun I quit. Two or three months later i felt nostalgic and came back to try to pvp. I was softbanned. I got softbanned for some reason, during the period of time where I did not play dark souls 2. Anyway, used family sharing, unbanned, made a legit account and pvping on it. Recently I used a trainer that I paid for months ago from a different website, It froze item quantities so that I can upgrade my weapons for free. I have not been softbanned and I wanted to put magic on my favorite shield but I can't magic imbue my shield because the game doesn't allow it. So now I am tempted to crack open cheatengine and spawn in a magic shield +10. However, does that count as a modified char? im not modifying my char i'm only spawning in items.. But the items are in my inventory and that is saved in my char file... so this could be considered modifying char, but i always thought modifying char was when u mess with levels and like estus flask. Also I think i broke my estus flask on my softbanned account, maybe thats why i got banned cuz i modded my estus flask.

I dont play anymore but I was in the same situation it will softban you for sure, I only spawned items even extremely rigged items that had SSS scaling some of them even one shot people lel like the +15 and +13(less obvious but still extremely rigged). And another thing I'm pretty sure there is a way to disable softban checking I forgot how I found it, it was near the checking for DLC.

I dont know why they disabled Valve anti cheat, if that was active it would have been a different story all together but you know it would cost too much so they dont give a shit for 1 platform. Not implying VAC is hard to bypass(lel) but you're safe, there are other methods to bypass softbans to like saving your legit copy on another drive and pasting it along with your saves etc to test it

While this game does have offline mode, your post clearly states you are playing online.
