For the control not showing up in the toolbox, which I guess is what you mean with the first part, do the following:
  1. Open Visual Studio.
  2. Click Tools -> Options from the menu.
  3. Choose 'Windows Forms Designer' from the left side menu.
  4. Choose 'General' under the above menu.
  5. On the right, locate 'Automatically Populate Toolbox' and ensure its set to true.
  6. Close all windows accepting any changes, clicking OK etc.
