| Ice water is apparently symbolic for the coldness people with ALS feel in their muscles. Don't know if they thought of that before they made the challenge or after.

it actually makes them harsher overall because the temperature condenses the smoke more than usual, you just think it's "easier" because the cool inhale masks the thickness of the smoke
