Idk, the British series Misfits was pretty good for a while. Plus yeah, Game of Thrones is also quite good. Then there's also Band of Brothers (god that was such a good series).
I'm assuming you're only referring to live-action television shows. Otherwise I'd say Spawn the animated series is up there on the list.

I started watching only when 3rd season got released just because i really hated cucumberbatch's face, but i have to say it's a really good show
lol @ big bang theory, that show is even worse than 2 and a half men

twin peaks, tim & eric awesome show, and peep show are great tv shows, and actually use the medium to a potential that makes sense. sherlock doesnt adhere to the "traditional" tv format, each ep is 1h 30mins and theres only 3 eps a season, still the best tv show tho, and hopefully more shit will have a format like that, instead of some shows that milk the episodes out because they get more money the more episodes are aired. id love if all the small filler shit of shows was cut out (for most shows that have a set start and end story line)
