I keep getting "error: device not found", with every rooting-program I tried.

... You don't have the android usb drivers installed. Without the adb drivers, there's no communication to your phone.

I had the same issue with my last phone after installing the drivers. |
Are you sure that they were properly installed? Try doing this in command prompt
If your phone doesn't pop up, it's a drivers issue.

I downloaded the beta iOS 7 on my iPhone 4S. From the looks of it, pretty much same shit but different looking icons and lock screen lol.

| Well, just looked in to it, turns out the drivers aren't compatible with Windows 8. Which is weird because I can do anything just fine, except for rooting. Tried it on a laptop with Windows xp and it worked .
