I was working 40 hours a week, but at 7.70 an hour it still isn't much. I need to transfer to savings or withdraw cash so I can save it at home. When you use a check card it's like you never see your money, but I have too because direct deposit was necessary when I applied.

Just transfer a portion of your money to a savings account if you're worried about over spending.

Also start building your credit.

What the fuck is a check card? Here the company I work for just deposits the money directly on my bank account, and then I can move it to my savings if I want to, or not. Why the fuck would the company give you a check, it sounds very retarded to go about paying your employees that way. Every 23rd of the month I get my money. That's how it goes. I get my pay slip in the mail around the same time, but that's just for bookkeeping.

FYI: Banks have gone bankrupt here as well, but the government bails out everyone who had their money at the bank that went under for up to 100.000 euros. So we as the regular folks don't worry a whole lot about losing our money, unless we have more than a 100.000 euros at the bank.
