Half broken? Really? Have you even checked the benchmarks? You AMD fags will make up anything to convince yourself AMD is superior.

What a retarded reasoning to not buy a superior product. If I was willing to fork over a 1000 dollars I'd buy the titan, but it's a bit much for just a graphics card. Considering the benchmarks of the 780 and titan are close to one another I've made my peace.
To the both of you: I'm focusing on how long my system will last before I'm forced to buy a new setup. I'm trying to find a good combination between price and performance. If I'm buying the inferior products now, I'll be needing new hardware faster than I would now. If anything I could SLI another 780 when needed and be good to go. If I buy the 7970 or 680 for example, I'd be needing a replacement faster, even if I were to SLI/Crossfire it.

Fun fact: Wait a month and the Titan will be $100 and 400 new video cards will have been made between now and then to replace it.

Well that's not very wise in my honest opinion, the power in that card will probably last a good while but you'll be stuck with the dx11 api, which is now officially considered a dead technology.
My guess is this time next year we'll have a new gpu tech that will be exclusive to newer cards, so I'm just going to upgrade cheaper cards more often from now until I get the disposable income to support top of the line products all the time.

You can add another two years to that if you take into consideration how long it takes for games to actually make use of a new DX version. Take a look at the transition from DX10 to DX11.

| Half broken indeed dude. The 780 is a half assed titian that couldn't do it. Nvidia has been confirmed to use titan cards that are below titan standards. Enjoy your half broken titian.

I think 3 years is a bit of an exaggeration, but who knows.
How long do you want this $700 card to last you?
All I'm trying to say is it's futile trying to drop loads of cash on a card with the intention of futureproofing because even if the power holds up to the next gen and next gen of games, the software may (read: will) not.

| I think I'll wait for an 8870 and maybe xfire those down the road as needed.

8970 is cheaper than the 780 and stronger than a titan.
LOLNVIDIA DUN GOOFED. |
Going to buy the 8970. I was not aware that such a release was so close already. Not to mention the price is better. Thanks for the tip.
