I started wondering about this after my trip to Thailand, where you can't drink tap water, and have to purchase water bottles. Here in the Netherlands it's drinkable: it has been since the day I was born.
people here in america complain about tap water and some refuse to drink anything but bottled water, but here its fine and i drink it all the time
I do live in a desert and the water comes from other places, which means theres regulations and processes it goes through to get here, probably making it cleaner than some other places
It should be fine in CA but like brolock said, lots of people complain about it. I don't have the money to buy bottled water every time I drink water. I just use tap and it's fine. Tap water supposedly has fluoride in it and it really differs to people weather it is bad or good.

In Belgium it is drinkable too, and compared to some other countries I think it tastes good too. I know a lot of people who use water filters but I've never heard of anyone getting ill from consuming tap water.
Don't know in what country this video was made but it's pretty disturbing.

Interesting, because the Dutch are also very confident in their tap water quality.

I'm doing well! I moved, finished uni, went to Thailand, got back, got a (Dutch) GF, Went to Thailand again for 2 months, broke up with GF, got back to NL, and I've been working out like crazy for the past five weeks with all the sudden spare time I have. Relationships, amirite?!

i probably drink a gallon of tap water a day
Making it safe to assume it's okay to drink. Good to know.

Not sure what that does. Why do people complain about it?

Supposedly good for dental hygiene. People complain about it for different reasons. Some say it may cause cancer if it is consumed.
fluoride prevents tooth decay and other bad things with teeth, people think you can get sick from it, but you would have to drink more than a deadly amount of water to get even close to a deadly amount of fluoride, but it is reasonable that people don't want this in their water, but you can get a filter for it so its not a big problem imo
it doesn't 'supposedly' have fluoride in it, it does and its pretty well known or at least should be

There's also fluoride in the tapwater in NL
See it like "free medicine" from your tap
That people are against it are the usual reasons: medicines are evil, it costs taxpayer money to add it, it makes dentists lose their jobs, etc...etc...etc...
Also, dutch tapwater in the netherlands (or at least eindhoven) makes the inside of your glass slightly slimey) _________________

Yeah never mind, I remember now I used to get fluoride on my teeth at the dentist. Even got to pick different flavors for it. We also had it at home as a pill we took after we brushed our teeth. Considering my teeth are fucking perfect, I'd say it does it work just fine.
EDIT: Also, in Almere this doesn't happen to our glasses. Never did anywhere, fortunately.
I live in vancouver so we got dat mountain water but I don't even drink water. I have like 8 gatorade bottles on my desk right now _________________
