|
|
So, I've just started playing BioShock 1 and getting deep into it. I've found the address for EVE (a mana-like feature) and it's a rational float value. While I was scanning for it, I noticed LOADS of numbers like "5.232812803E-39". I know this doesn't make any sense at all, so I'm just going to say it's an irrational number (primarily because it's not an obvious terminating decimal). What I want is a feature in Cheat Engine that allows me to filter out these types of addresses so that I don't have to see them while scanning. The PointerScanner is much more fun to work with, because I get to filter out invalid addresses. An address that would fit my criteria as a rational address value would be like "27.5" or "35" because they obviously terminate, so there's a possibility they are the values of the address I'm looking for. A value like "5.232812803E-39" is quite obviously not any value I'm looking for, so I just want a feature that allows me to filter out these types of values.
By the way, I didn't know which forum to place this post, so I just selected this one.

The way I see it's not a Rational Number for me it's Scientific Number Coding because the Digits is too long.
Have you tried?
Scan Type: Unknown Initial Value
Value Type: All
And have you tried changing the Value Type when you got the Value on that Address?
When I see Values like that I mostly change the value type.

I just do the workaround when scanning (keep changing the desired value), but it's just really annoying and takes up a lot of unnecessary space in the address window. Doing the workaround takes a lot of time, too.

Patience is the key of finding it. Right now I'm still a newbie finding codes and for that it takes me 3~5hrs to complete all the cheats + modifying it at my desired preferences.

Agh, I guess I can live with it. I'm very good at finding addresses, but I can't write scripts for the life of me. Thanks for your help, anyway.

One easy way to get rid of those addresses is do a "value between" 0.001 and 100000000
That will filter out all values that need an exponent notation

Another way to Identify the addresses is that you have an Eye on the relation of the address/s.
