Yea it's fucking sweet bro.

as for trap, the drum pattern is like always the fucking same. bothers me a bit. I know it's kinda hypocritical since i listen to a lot of house, but it just sounds really boring to me.

drum pattern is what helps to define genres, without drum pattern a lot of electronic genres would be harder to distinguish

i was thinking a lot about this lately, what makes me enjoy liquid dnb so much, and how it follows a formula, if it didnt follow that formula, it would cease to be liquid dnb , the smallest changes can put it in a completely different catagory, and while its great to have experimental music, you need other genres to follow rules because theres no 'wrong without right' so to say.

you know exactly what you're getting, no one is going to listen to trap music for hours on end, but it sure as fuck is entertaining and hyphy, thats what the drum pattern is for, to get shit started, while other genres its used to keep the song going and build and take the song to other places

no its not, the drum pattern often changes, it has builds and drops, sometimes even multiple ones, and the bass is constantly changing, its wobbling, its not repetitive, and it often has background sounds that change up to keep things interesting, dubstep is far from a repetitive genre, if you want repetitive listen to some minimal techno, post-dubstep can be repetitive though
