Im a bit confused on how this server side and client. I know that files are stored on your computer and editable, and then there are server side files which are stored there, instead of the person reading off their computer the file is revealed through them so it is ment to not be editable with the variable saved on server side.
Now the thing that is confusing is Diablo 2: LOD fully updated on single player. I tried to edit the code variable on CE, I can edit it, and on the game it will just stay the same and when the gold changes on CE it just changes back, I freeze the variable, it still changes.. So to my best guess there is a file to which the variable is continually stored and it needs to be saved too.. But would I need to open up another program to edit that address or will I need to locate it and edit it aswell?  |

More then likely your not going to edit the gold and it stay.
But as far as it keeps changing while it is frozen. There is another address handling it. Perhaps a code injection would make it stay at what variable you wanted it at. But it wont be real. Because the server side is handling the stored value. |

It still is oddly both based on single player mode, so its not even on battle net. So how would I be able to take the file and restore it will new variables? |

On the single player side of the game you should be able to hack the gold.
The address you found i belive is the display address, and the pointer needs to be found.
Try see what writes to the address. |

It rewrites it. Like when I change it the next time I drop another gold or so, it simply returns to the unhacked amount. Although I think I figured it out. Im going to put unknown amount, then drop a gold then put changed, then drop another until it comes to a few amount and just get a good amount of gold and freeze the addresses. They may just be well encrypted. (My diablo 2: LOD is updated to the latest version)
*On the brighter side, I was able ot find health and mana. It turns out they had 4 addresses each. So gold might too.
~~ Completed! I got all three! I found out money was more than the addresses of the Health / Mana and the first time I went about it the wrong way ~~ |

And how do you do to change the mana and health if they are on 4 addresses? Don't they affect each other?

Ofcourse they do, you just gotta freeze them, or give them a hotkey to return to full health (same hotkey for all) when you press it, because I noticed it seems to crash when you freeze the addresses (and get damaged / use mana a lot)

Shows how to get to set a hotkey..
Also summoner classes like e.g. Summoner Necromancer, can have frozen addresses, they don't get damaged as much and cause a crash. |
