 ...wow

You'll write an entire mem hacking program from scratch, but you won't run three commands?

Also, don't use mirc, don't know what platform you run but there are plenty of good alternatives.

Me, I'd get annoyed by that fast, auto identify is the first thing I do when I setup a client (and the desktop clients usually prompt you to do that anyways).

Also at the previous poster, I can confirm that IRC isn't dead, just not many people on it (there were ~5 when I checked).

Well, if it works for you, nothing, but I think when I tried it, it felt/was limited.

That was such a long time ago, though, my remark is mainly in reaction to the fact it sounds like DarkByte has troubles getting it to use a nick. XChat is good, but paid on Windows, and there are a couple others e.g. KVirc which are pretty good, and then there are a whole host of non IRC centric ones as well...

So the better question I would think is why would you use mIRC when there are so many good alternatives?

				| mIRC is fully feature rich and extendable. It has a very powerful scripting language built into the core of the application that lets you take control of every part of the application. While it is not a normal known language like Lua, Python, etc. it is still powerful for what it was made for. The ability to auto-join channels, auto-identify, etc. are all built into it as well.
As for XChat being paid for now, just use HexChat, its the same code base, but free.
