It's a bit ambiguous though, in what it actually represents. The negative space also seems a tad awkward. I'd be inclined to agree with the others. It'd be easier to tell if there was a mock-up of a larger version I'd say. All very nice works.

Still like the one Konr pulled out of your collection more.
The "c" in this looks a bit too close to a cents symbol. Which makes me think of many, which will make new users think, "Wait. Do I have to pay for this?"

That's barely a cog.
EDIT: The one I pasted needs a few tweaks like a rounded edge on the "dial and better proportions but it's the best idea without a doubt.

| When animated it looks more like a cog but when it isn't animated it doesn't look enough like one. I like the idea but I don't like it for CE specifically.

On a side note (An important one!): you can change the icon of any shortcut (programs too, I think) in: Right Click->Properties->Shortcut Tab->Change Icon Button. (Windows 7)
