It's only useless to go past 4GB on a 32-bit cpu if you're using windows without the proper license since windows will be a bitch then and refuse to use it, but the cpu can access it without a problem.
Sure, a process is limited to 4GB ram (3GB actually + 1GB for kernel) but it does allow you to run multiple processes that eat 3GB ram at the same time without lagging like crazy

lol, not going to happen. Game developers have been doing fine without steam box. its the other way around, if gamebox doesn't have windows as the base OS (which is not really that rare on arcades and big game machines) it will most likely fail.

Most of people don't like windows 8, so probably they will switch to Linux, and world governments are switching to Linux, because it is cheaper to them.
