Agreed. You could say C# is more of a hobby language and C++ is professional language where you have control over everything on the system with a huge margin for error.

not really, as I said before C++ is not a commonly used language for nowdays programming needs.
C# is often the option because its more cost efficient for the business.
on your words:
for me , pascal is a hobby language, even though it lets you have a very good control of everything happening in the computer, nowdays its not needed and there are easier solutions that solve problems in waaay shorter times.

I'm pretty sure it boils down to what the program needs to do. Languages like ASM, Java, C, C++ are all very powerful and do a lot C# can't. So I think it's situation based.
Also if a program is required to do many operations at a high speed. A .NET language may not be appropriate.

and like I said, its because the programming needs are now more common and currently the marked doesn't require heavy applications that needs powerful languages like C++, most of the time the need is for a simple application and that is where programming is heading.
Also the limitations of C# are not that much. often it is counted as a limitation the fact that C++ is way faster on doing something than C# but if it were to be a possibility comparison on problems solving it is almost always a matter of application efficiency vs problem solving efficiency.

| anyone saying that any of these languages are significantly similar are basing what they say off similarities in syntax rather than the semantics and idiosyncrasies of the language. a language is simply a tool and every problem is best suited to be solved by a different tool. despite syntactically similar because of language influences, all of these languages are very very different. anyone saying otherwise has not properly learnt both languages being compared.
