I literally see no job offers

inb4WAIULOOKFORJOB?
I was told nobody hires c++ programmers in general and that everyone wants java/c#. Wanted to confirm this.

Well C# was influenced by C++, so if you know sharp you're bound to know the languages beneath that. My friends being taught Java his first semester in college, so I guess that's on the rise even though there are better languages.

Nearly all of my Software Engineering curriculum is based on Java, and that's at the flagship school of my state, so take that however you see it. The only intro C++ class is an elective for other engineering majors, and it's only one class.

Not necessarily true, because you don't really have to learn C++ to learn C# because it isn't C++ with shit added on, it was just influenced by C++/Java. It's a lot more simplistic.

actually java is a lot like C#
you can learn C# or Java without knowing the C++ sintaxis at all, but having a reasonable understanding of general programming, a transition to C++ is possible.

C++ is not dying, programming is getting more needed in general. That is way most of the time what's wanted is simple programs that doesn't need to be time efficient but needs to be done quickly

That's where C# comes along, it is way quicker to program something in C# than C++ therefore its cheaper for a company and gets the product faster.

And Java is just as easy and is cross platform.

C++ on the other hand is harder, more expensive and isn't cross platform.
though it is needed for heavy applications.

But java is terribly inefficient, why do people care so much about cross platform when everyone should be running linux in the first place?

C++ not cross platform.... lol.
Also they are both good languages to know, but Java has things that may not be the best aswell as C++. You have a lot more control over the system with C++. At the same time Java has great stuff like its garbage collector, I' just saying they are equally as valuable.

That's like learning how to ride a motorcycle but not learning how to ride a bicycle.
