Ok well taking into account there are probably a billion or so artists worth listening tothroughout recorded history, I'd say he's in the 98-99 percentile.
So if we were to make a chart of a billion artists, he'd rank somewhere in the top few hundred million?

He has a style and it works. He's been doing this for longer than most people and just watching him do it shows he's talented. Whether you like it or not he is.

He knows his tunes and he makes really good use of them. His playing has loads of feeling as well..

| I'm actually with brolock on this one. Even from a theory standpoint he isn't doing anything amazing at all, and as far as his little "guitar" style goes, I could emulate it half asleep. He isn't bad in any way, but he's definitely no god.

He's playing in one scale, not modulating to any others, and is using a pitch wheel to do bends. If I really have to prove myself, I will sometime next week after I unpack my keyboard and everything.
I really don't get why people are saying he's that amazing. Yes he's good and his stuff is catchy, I'm not trying to take that away from him, I like what I heard in Sequence. I'm just saying that his style is easy to pull off and not technically challenging and that he isn't any closer to godlike status than any other half decent composer. Pulling from what brolock said, in the grand scheme of things and music in general right now, he's not some pinnacle of musicianship.
