Has gotten so senseless to pain through the years from punching it every time I remember a painful or embarrassing memory.

Anyone else do this, or do I have issues?

People do similar things, like holding their thumb when something good is happening so whenever they hold their thumb it makes them happier, you're basically doing the opposite in a way, doing something whenever something bad happens, to bring some kind of normalcy or pattern to it.

I do this thing where I hold my dick and rub it until I feel happier, I think a lot of people use this method too.
