Going to be absolutely amazing to tune to all fifths and keep standard tension. Even if I go through the trouble of putting the correct string set together, either the lowest string would be way too loose, or the high string would break. Even if I compromised, the intonation would go to shit in no time. I'll be able to easily switch to Russian tuning, my favorite tuning for acoustic playing.
Also, what he does at 4:58 is absolutely amazing. He's essentially making the guitar layer its natural harmonic, something not even possible on some frets. He's effectually mimicking, well surpassing really, the capabilities of a harmonic capo.
Can't wait till I get the money together, 500 bucks, but the experimentation I'll get out of it will be great. I was going to buy a ~$500 guitar anyway as the only one I have right now has a floyd rose and takes a good hour to retune properly.
Neat, but if you weren't a filthy casual you would just tune it yourself.
I stated why that particular argument is at least partially invalid. It is nearly impossible to tune to all fifths and not have problems somewhere, now I can play with normal tension and perfect intonation. Being able to play in drop G and A with normal tension is awesome too, and switching between them all(especially standard to russian, or all fifths or all fourths) in a couple seconds is fucking brilliant.

not to burst your bubble but it would probably be more worth your time and money to spend 500 bucks on a normal guitar of much higher quality and acquire the skills to tune it properly. I know this isn't a great analogy but there's a reason why classical string players don't use instruments that tune themselves, because it's cheating.
If you're dead-set on getting the autotune guitar, do what you'd like, but I suggest you put a lot of thought into what having it is going to be like. Having a guitar that plays 100% in tune 100% of the time is not exactly the most hardcore route to take.

I do have a nice guitar, and I'm not exactly new to guitar or music in general. I can tune just fine and it sounds amazing, it just takes absolutely forever to tune it, because it has a floyd rose. I want this as a secondary guitar that I can also experiment with. Just having a guitar that can hold all fifths in perfect intonation is amazing enough on its own. Not to sound like "that guy" or anything, but do you play music? I'm pretty much asking so I can know whether or not you understand what I mean when I use certain terms.
Also, it isn't like vocal autotune that latches you into a specific key, it just retunes the guitar. And you know guitars don't have to be in standard right?
I'd rather have something I can actively play with and experiment with. Nice watches though.
2 years ago I got an Ibanez JS1000 and a DigiTech RP255. Played it for about a year then stopped.
Damn, that sucks. I started out a while back with a cheap $90 strat ripoff and a $20 practice amp. About a year later, fixed up the electronics in a friend's old BC Rich Mockingbird, kept that for a good year before getting a new amp(peavey VyPyr) for Christmas. That Christmas I bought myself an RP355. Two years later and I finally traded up to a Schecter Diamond FR.
i want a fender VG stratocaster. Different sounds / tunes with just a wheel / switch change
37 different sounds from a single guitar
5? different tunings, all controlled electrically so you don't need to retune your guitar at all.. always have it in standard E and it'll go from drop d to open g
