I forgot the name of a game I used to play.

It was a simulation game, where you manage a space station and its visitors.
You'd get visitors of all kinds of species.
You start out in one section of the space station and could eventually buy more of them. Each section had several floors, each with a function. Topmost floor was where the nature was, bottom was where all functional things were, like the port for the trader to dock.
You could build all kinds of things, but had to buy the plans from the trader.

Anyone know the game I'm talking about?

Found it. Startopia, found it through google image search for "space station simulation".
