So I'm putting together a new computer and when I put in the power switch cable in and press the power button, it doesn't turn on. It turns on when I put a flathead screw driver onto it Sad what do?

Make sure the psu switch is flipped in the "on" position.

Make sure you plugged the case plugs into proper pins, there are more than one set of pins, and on some boards they are in different directions (hori or vert).

Make sure the 20+4 is properly connected.

Try removing the cpu connecter (4/4+4) and see if the system turns on. This means the board has fault mosfets/vrms

You can check to see if the PSU is faulty bu taking metal wire and putting it into the green and black connectors on the 24+4. It should cause the psu to turn on.

Could be so many more problems but these should cover the most common.

Hero: If you would have read what he wrote you'd know he can turn it on by touching the FSB flips with a part of metal. In other words, no problems at all except he didn't connect the cablse properly (or the cables are broken)

In other words, puresick: are you 100% sure you're connecting the pwr (or whatever the name might be) on the right pins?

Yeah, I connected them right. It's just that the power button wasn't connected to the cable, lol.
