And I'm looking at getting one of these for my programming/hardware classes. Won't be for a long time though.

Why the fuck would you buy these gaming laptops I have no idea anyway. The idle battery life is like 4-5 hours, so probably like a fucking hour while gaming.

Specs are one thing, but design and features should also be taken into consideration...
Also the things you listed that are better in the Razer are, when compared to the mac, a bargain.

What features? I haven't heavily looked into this Razer laptop so I assumed it was just like any other branded laptop (Toshiba, asus, hitachi, etc)

As for design, all I can think of is the Razer laptop is supposedly a lot stronger than the macbook pro, and it's cheaper to repair.
