Also, I've played a lot of AoE 2. I still own it. But I'm trying to get into more modern RTS. But what's the difference between a MOBA and a regular RTS

In moba you control a single guy with some strategy, while RTS is basically playing chess and you need to control a lot more, and do it with a plan.

Look at Dota 2/LoL/HoN gameplay, then look at Starcraft 2 gameplay. There you go.
